"Mr President, I am fully aware that the Dutch Government takes a different position from the German Government in some areas. However, there is one thing that we really must not forget, which is that the governments, including those with Liberal members, do not share and are not promoting the unconditional commitment to less intergovernmentalism and more Europe, as presented by Mr Verhofstadt.
My second point concerns our criticism of the three reports which are being adopted here today and which cover stability policy and the process of dealing with budget deficits. We are fully convinced that we need a sustainable budgetary policy. Our focus in budgetary policy is also on intergenerational justice.
However, we are not in favour of the way in which budgetary policy is being implemented and you can take Greece as an example of this. If there is no possibility of creating a future for young people at the same time and if there is no possibility of saying how sustainable development, which is constantly being discussed, should be started, we do not believe that this contributes to intergenerational justice."@en1
