"Madam President, Ms Ashton, Mr Füle, of course, as a Pole, I am very proud that we are hosting the summit. I think that Poland, Sweden and the whole European Union can be proud, as this is a step in the right direction. This is something, maybe the most important thing of all, that the citizens of the six countries which are members of the Eastern partnership have been waiting for. These are people who have also been wishing for economic development to take place in their countries – and we can certainly help here – and for political stability, democracy and, finally, for security.
Speaking of economic development and the help we can give, a positive move would undoubtedly be to bring talks with Ukraine on the association agreement to a conclusion before the end of this year, and another very positive move would also be to send a clear signal concerning the opening of talks on free trade agreements with Georgia and Moldova."@en1
