"Mr President, I agree with you, Ms Jazłowiecka, when you say that we can only admire the resolve of the Irish people and authorities in dealing with the crisis that hit Ireland. The Irish case also clearly shows that it is perfectly possible to combine the strength, self-reliance and solidarity of the other Member States to come up with an answer to get a country out of a situation which was, in Ireland’s case, alarming. As for the rest, and as for Greece, it will not have escaped your notice that, on 21 July, the European Council decided to offer Greece a whole range, a whole host of measures of administrative assistance. There is a task force in Greece, divided between Brussels and Greece, which works, in particular, on the important matter of mobilising the financial resources for the Structural Funds. All euro area Member States have proposed providing Greece with their own administrative know-how, particularly with regard to tax collection – a massive weak link in the Greek administration. We are therefore more than willing to provide all the support and assistance that Greece might need. In fact, Greece needs technical and administrative assistance, and the other Member States of the Eurogroup are quite prepared to provide these administrative elements."@en1
