Such a strategy must be based on a thorough analysis of current trends in international trade and development inside and outside the EU, as well as on the diversity of European businesses, their know-how and their technological advances. Negotiations within the World Trade Organisation and free trade agreements are powerful tools for a multilateral approach and market access.
