"During a crisis, it is a good time to think about which sectors of the economy are propping up the European Union. Tourism is one of them as it currently generates 5% of the Union’s GDP. It is a golden opportunity for micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in this sector provided, of course, that they make sure that they remain competitive. We need to remember that access to the best technologies available is absolutely essential for sharing good practices and for promoting goods and destinations. Likewise, programmes such as ‘Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs’ need to be promoted so that young people acquire new skills. These skills have to be recognised by Member States so that those working in this sector no longer have difficulty finding work throughout the year."@en1
