The report emphasises the need for a balance to be struck between the simplification of the rules and ensuring that money is spent correctly, and calls for a more integrated approach to the funding streams available. The Commission must now look at how they will take Parliament’s suggestions into account to streamline the often onerous funding rules, whilst ensuring the legality and regularity of EU expenditure."@en1
