". Madam President, when reading the list of objectives in this report, you could almost forget that it is supposed to be about trade policy. From climate policy to employment law, Europe is trying to push a socialist agenda from all sides. Such things have no place in a report on trade policy. If Europe is going into the negotiations with this shopping list, then it will be putting paid to any chances of success from the outset. Do you really think that developing countries are crying out for European social standards and climate objectives? Surely, these countries have other things on their minds. Do you know what would really help these countries? Being able to freely export their agricultural products to Europe. Europe has the audacity to impose all kinds of demands, whilst protecting its own agricultural sector with subsidies which cost billions. That is hypocritical and is costing us loads of money. If the European Union is attempting to conclude trade agreements on the basis of these conditions, it will fail."@en1
