lpv:translated text	"Madam President, the current proposal for an energy efficiency directive presents measures for achieving a 20% reduction in energy consumption by 2020 in a number of ways, including by improving the technologies used and reducing energy systems’ losses. The Romanian Government has come up with an original solution for achieving this compulsory objective much earlier and without any investments. Instead of proposing measures to eliminate a more than 40% heat loss from Romania’s centralised heating system, the Boc government has cut the heating subsidy for low-income families. This coming winter, a million families will no longer be able to pay their heating bills and will have to stop using heating and live with the cold. This means that, nationally, the 20% reduction target will be achieved quickly. I appeal to the European Commission to take note of this and adopt measures relating to this decision which violates fundamental human rights to a decent life."@en1
