lpv:spoken text	"The resolution that was passed to step up the emergency response to the famine in the Horn of Africa has my full support. Money is desperately needed in this area to provide essential food and healthcare services for around 13 million people whose lives are threatened by the drought. This new funding will help boost emergency aid so that any further worsening of humanitarian conditions can be prevented. The European Parliament condemns the actions of the al-Shabab, an Islamist militant group in Somalia that obstructs the hard-working aid agencies from reaching those most in need. In addition to this, this resolution calls for an increase in aid to be allocated for agricultural production as this provides an essential long-term investment in building a sustainable infrastructure."@en1
