"Homelessness is a wide-spread problem throughout the European Union that is difficult to resolve. There are many reasons why a person ends up homeless and there are many ways of getting people back out of this crisis situation. However, it requires coordinated cooperation between the public as well as the private organisations that are involved with this section of the population. Homeless people are on the margins of society as they do not enjoy the fundamental right of somewhere to live. That makes it almost impossible for them to enter into the world of work and to lead an orderly everyday life. The downward spiral continues ever further. Neglect and addiction problems are the inevitable results. I voted against the motion for a resolution, as I believe that the problem of ‘homelessness’ can only be resolved at national level, because each State has different means available and different social networks."@en1
