". I voted for Ms Matera’s reports on the mobilisation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) as I think that we need to focus our attention on the problems caused by globalisation and the economic crisis, while, at the same time, expressing our solidarity with the affected regions. The fact that more than 21 million people are currently unemployed in the European Union highlights the need to take specific measures across all Member States, which will encourage access to the EGF. This will enable us to take a step towards stabilising the labour market and reducing unemployment, thereby contributing to sustainable economic growth. In this regard, a legislative framework must be adopted which will also permit access to the EGF for Member States that have encountered obstacles, as has also happened in the case of the country I come from. I believe and maintain that Romania too could benefit from such aid in the future as a result of company relocations."@en1
