"I welcome this report on offshore oil and gas activity safety, given the need to avoid a repetition of the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe on our shores. The EU must draw on its lessons and carefully review the relevant regulations, as the US Commission in charge of enquiring into this disaster identified practices which are common in the EU, and also in adjacent jurisdictions. This situation also highlights the need to copperfasten the applicable international regimes."@en1
