I voted in favour of Ms Iotova’s report, which proposes, firstly, the introduction of a special policy to preserve and improve the situation of fisheries resources and to ensure that the fisheries sector is suited to the Black Sea basin; secondly, the provision of support for more accurate scientific research that is coordinated more effectively at regional, national and European level, in order to preserve ecosystems; thirdly, the creation of an appropriate status in EU policies to promote sustainable fisheries; and lastly, the establishment of a separate regional fisheries management organisation for the Black Sea."@en1
