lpv:translated text	"This proposal for a resolution focuses on the need to develop new approaches for the supply and use of raw materials. The proposal is certainly worthy of support, since it transmutes many of the basic principles of our political beliefs. In particular, I welcome the care that the proposal pays to the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). I also stand fully behind the call for any partnership between the European Union and third-country suppliers of materials to be founded on the strengthening of democratic principles and respect for human rights. Throughout my political life, I have always denounced the human rights violations committed by the governments of many countries which the EU has to deal with for supplies of raw materials. Accordingly, there is no reason why I would not support the views expressed in this proposal."@en1
