"The few breakthroughs achieved during the previous vote have been diminished, if not destroyed, in the compromise amendment adopted by the Committee on International Trade. Out goes the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in line with the recommendations of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Out goes the assessment of the social and environmental consequences of projects funded or guaranteed by the States. The policy is always the same: to export at all costs and to ensure free and undistorted competition. A new economic model, on which the survival of our ecosystem and food sovereignty depend, is a distant prospect. I voted against."@en1
