However, under the 1992 agreement, agriculture and fisheries have been excluded from the products that enjoy freedom of circulation, although provision was made for the progressive liberalisation of agricultural production through revision of the conditions of sale of these products. Whereas Norway enjoys a positive total trade balance with the EU, the agricultural trade balance is in favour of the EU. This new amendment provides for greater liberalisation of EU-Norway trade, which is to be welcomed, whilst also taking into account the sensitivity of certain types of products, which limits their sale.
