It is, understandably, in the interests of the trading partners to ensure the mutual protection of designations of origin and geographical indications in order to promote trade in agricultural products as well as to improve the quality of the products. The inclusion of Liechtenstein in the EU-Switzerland agreement entails a considerable improvement in trade relations for this country, too, and is thus very much to be welcomed.
