lpv:translated text	"I welcomed this document because both parties have agreed on a harmonised procedure for designating and effectively protecting registered origins and geographical indications. Following this common understanding and the convergence of their domestic legislation, both parties have mutually recognised a list of registered protected agricultural products. The new Annex 12 contains around 800 geographical indications registered in the EU and 22 geographical indications registered in Switzerland. This represents a serious and long-awaited improvement on previous commercial conditions because, until now, the bilateral agreement with the Swiss Confederation only established protection for the designation of origin of wines and spirits."@en1
