These issues, which have been taken up in the report presented by Mrs De Keyser, are a solid foundation to use as a starting point for improving the relations that the EU has put in place to promote democratisation. I believe the choice to support the Commission’s decision with regard to the establishment of a European Endowment for Democracy to assist political actors striving for more widespread democracy in their countries is a valid one. For these reasons, I voted in favour of the text presented today in the House."@en1
