lpv:translated text	"− I very much welcome this report on EU external policies in favour of democratisation, to which I gave my vote. During my work in Parliament, I have gone to great lengths to denounce the human rights violations that are committed, all too often with impunity, by the governments of states with which the EU has developed political and trade partnerships. In the questions I have put to the Commission I have always made a point of calling on the European institutions to take more care when applying conditionality instruments in their dealings with partner governments that are guilty of violating their citizens’ right to political freedom, religious freedom and freedom of thought. This report adopts the same position, and therefore I voted in favour of it."@en1
