lpv:translated text	"I am pleased to see the adoption of this joint resolution, of which I am one of the first co-signatories, on the situation in Syria, Yemen and Bahrain in the context of the situation in the Arab world and North Africa. This context of instability in the Arab world and North Africa demands quick and effective action by the international community, particularly Europe, and greater involvement in the Middle East peace process. As the chair of the Delegation for relations with the Mashreq countries, I regret that the international community seems, to the public, to be applying double standards regarding Syria. There is also a need to denounce the position of Russia and China, which have used their veto to prevent the international community from taking a position more in tune with our fundamental values."@en1
