"I voted in favour of the report by Mrs Berès because, amidst a climate of pervading scepticism, Parliament has shown that there is a way out of the crisis and, of course, it is ‘more Europe’. Parliament is offering a long-term vision in the face of the detractors of European development. This vision aims to act as a guide for the Commission and for Member States, to show the way out of the crisis and to lay the foundations for recovery. I strongly believe that Europe should capitalise on the return of growth in order to become an international example, and for lasting progress. We must ensure that our policies are consistent across the continent, especially on economic and monetary affairs, transport and cohesion."@en1
