Can I say that I am very pleased with the reply that I have received from the Commissioner? But what is crucially important is that the Commission keeps its eye on the situation, because we are in the early stages of an experiment that we have never had before, in which stressed assets are being taken over by NAMA. What is crucially important is that the hospitality sector, with its multi-million euro hotels, which cost the Irish taxpayer and the banks a lot of money, is kept under review and does not contravene the competition laws. So I am delighted that, in year one, NAMA is complying with the conditions and terms which were applied by the Commission at the request of the Irish Government."@en1
