"The outcome of today’s vote is disappointing. I regret that the Conservative amendment removed our call for the EU to increase its CO
reduction target to 30% by 2020, leaving me no choice but to vote against the report. Europe should be ambitious in its emissions targets, just as my own country, Scotland, is ambitious – but Parliament has chosen to back-pedal. The Fukushima disaster shows that nuclear power will always be dangerous – yet Parliament has backed nuclear power. Today’s vote lacks ambition and is out of touch with the citizens of the EU."@en1
