". − (DE) After long considerations and weighing up all the information, I have decided to vote against the report. In my opinion, it exacerbates the problem of genetically modified organisms (GMOs), rather than resolving it. We need a standard, EU-wide solution. We do not need renationalisation, which will prevent us from achieving our internal market objectives. In addition, it will weaken the position of the EU in future World Trade Organisation negotiations. We need an overall solution which gives consumers and farmers freedom of choice, supports the principle of proportionality and, at long last, also provides a practical solution to the question of coexistence."@en1
