"The assistance provided to the employees made redundant from the Danish wind turbine manufacturing company Glasfiber through the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund is altogether justified, but it is worrying that a company involved in the manufacturing of renewable energy technology is forced to curtail its operations at a time when renewable energy is one of the European Union’s most important priorities. It cannot be considered acceptable to have a situation in which environmentally friendly technology is already largely imported from logistically distant Asia while Europeans remain unemployed. I hope that Germany’s decision to make a transition to renewable energy, along with attempts by other Member States to increase the proportion of renewable energy, will provide a new stimulus for the entire European wind energy sector."@en1
