lpv:translated text	"We agree with the decision to mobilise the European Union Solidarity Fund, within an annual ceiling of EUR 1 billion, in favour of Croatia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic following the intense rainfall and flooding that affected these three countries last year. The disaster caused significant damage to infrastructure, to the agriculture sector, to businesses and to private property, forcing the population to abandon their homes. We believe that since this was a natural disaster, the request should be examined on the basis of the so-called ‘extraordinary regional disaster’ criterion. Under this criterion, a region can exceptionally benefit from assistance from the fund where that region has been affected by an extraordinary disaster, mainly a natural one, affecting the majority of its population, with serious and lasting repercussions on living conditions and the economic stability of the region."@en1
