lpv:translated text	"Mr President, as shadow rapporteur for the report on cooperation in the field of vocational education and training, I have followed the activities of the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training with particular interest. Matching vocational training to the needs of citizens and the labour market is one of the key factors in increasing employment levels and the competitiveness of the European Union. We cannot therefore underestimate the role played by Cedefop. The report for 2010 confirmed my beliefs regarding Cedefop’s effectiveness. Evidence of this can be seen in the steady rise in the number of people using its publications and the Europass portal. However, I believe that it is vital to increase Cedefop’s involvement in structural measures aimed at vocational training, including the introduction of a system for assessing the effectiveness of training. I also believe that the agency has superb potential to draft an attractive proposal in this respect."@en1
