By adopting this report, however, we have stressed the need for a stronger commitment to environmental protection in forest policy. We have also highlighted the challenge that climate change presents to our forests. While I am not sure that we need a legislative initiative prohibiting building on land cleared by fires, I am in favour of discussing robust, long-term solutions to help curb this terrible phenomenon of forest fires caused by arsonists wanting to clear land for building."@en1
