"We had to abstain at the end. Our AMR, co-signed by S&D and aimed at giving the resolution a stronger regulatory flavour, was rejected. Amendments by the rapporteur to weaken the resolution were, however, adopted, as was the report containing very mixed messages. The key player on this in the EPP (Karas) was on our line, and as rapporteur for CRD IV (the Capital Requirements Directive), he will be given the task of dealing with corporate governance rules for financial institutions (the follow-up to this INI). His group, in particular Vice-President Wortman-Kool, let him down (again). Let us hope the actual legislation (proposal expected in July) will be treated with more care and determination."@en1
