Based on existing systems which were created and launched by Parliament in 1996 and by the Commission in 2008, it seeks to address certain recent problems, although the argument for it in the report is the new powers entrusted to the European Parliament following the Treaty of Lisbon’s entry into force. Some aspects of it are positive, but we have serious doubts about other amendments. We support greater transparency, but it is not always clear that this is the aim of all the adopted amendments.
