lpv:translated text	"I endorsed this report and discharge in respect of the implementation of the budget of the European Environment Agency for the financial year 2009. The Court of Auditors judged that the Agency’s annual accounts for the financial year 2009 are reliable and that the underlying transactions are legal and regular. The Agency is a reliable provider of independent environmental information for all Union institutions, the Member States and policy-making bodies. I agree with the rapporteur that the Agency must set out a comparison of operations carried out during the year for which discharge is to be granted and in the previous financial year. The Agency must further develop its communication methods in order to attract more media coverage for its findings and thus feed public debate on important environmental issues. Such measures may lead to a more transparent working method and greater public interest in the Agency’s work."@en1
