As a matter of urgency I urge the Commission to come forward with proposals that will put in place robust measures to counter gender-based violence and protect victims across the EU. The discrepancies that currently exist between Member States must be addressed, with the introduction of coherent national laws. I hope that this resolution will be a step towards a European directive to combat gender-based violence."@en1
