The EU is concerned about the fall of dictators it used to support in exchange for management of ‘migration flows’ at its borders. The idea of a mass influx of refugees, victims of these dictatorial systems, did not worry it, and for good reason. It is the arrival of democracy that worries it. Yet Europe will need 230 million immigrants between now and 2030: the European Commission has said so itself. Moreover, this text recommends applying sanctions to countries that fail to respect the principles enshrined in the free trade agreements and those advocated by the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The Arab revolutions have barely shaken off the yoke of their own despots and now foreign tyrants are sending them their regards. This report is arrogant and brutal. I am voting against it."@en1
