lpv:translated text	"It is the duty of Parliament to express its solidarity with the Japanese government following its threefold disaster – the earthquake, the tsunami and the nuclear accident – which has struck the country. In this joint resolution submitted by all of the political groups, we call upon the EU and its Member States to extend all possible aid and support needed at a humanitarian, technical and financial level to Japan. The devastating earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on 11 March caused thousands of deaths and missing persons, along with considerable material damage. The disaster also caused an extremely serious nuclear accident which is affecting the Fukushima nuclear plant and itself constitutes a serious threat. It is also our duty to express our complete solidarity with the Japanese people and their government, and to send our condolences to the victims of this threefold disaster."@en1
