lpv:translated text	"I voted in favour of this motion for a resolution because it expresses the solidarity of the people of Europe with Japan. Parliament is highlighting the courage of the Japanese in this crisis, the most serious since the Second World War, which has so severely affected their country. Among Japan’s friends, Europeans have immediately reported themselves for duty to lend a helping hand to the people afflicted. However, the archipelago is faced with a nuclear problem that is of extreme concern and requires our full attention. It suits Europe to provide all its assistance and expertise to the Japanese authorities in order to prevent a catastrophe of the devastating consequences of which we are unfortunately all too well aware."@en1
