"In the face of recent digital developments, the EU should update consumer rights. This draft directive aims to provide better protection for consumers in all Member States of the European Union by enabling them, in particular, to enjoy an adequate right of withdrawal. Every citizen and consumer should be guaranteed the same rights within the Union. We will thus promote a level of consumerism that satisfies our citizens, who will find it easier to make purchases in other Member States. Furthermore, given that it preserves the vital
of French consumer law, such as the ‘latent defect’ guarantee, and the fact that all methods of payment are free of charge, I believe this new directive to be a step forward. I therefore supported it."@en1
