lpv:translated text	"− I voted in favour of adopting the Baudis report. Mr Baudis’ comprehensive report covers all the interesting issues concerning human rights, equal rights for women, freedom of the press and democratisation. The report also takes account of recent changes in the political arena in Bahrain. I believe that it is absolutely vital to condemn the violence which is being used in this conflict. A strategic partnership in many areas, which is highlighted at many points in the report, should make it possible to avoid crises in relations between the EU and the region, and to increase Europe’s energy security. The Persian Gulf countries are extremely important players in the peace process. I would therefore like to say how pleased I am that the report was adopted, and I hope that cooperation between the European Union and the Persian Gulf countries will be even more productive in many areas."@en1
