Consequently, in view of global warming, the European Union and the United States need to work together to reduce the environmental impact of international aviation. I have therefore voted in favour of the Agreement in which both parties undertake to adopt environmental and social standards that will considerably reduce noise pollution and mitigate the effects of air traffic emissions on air quality, whilst also committing to developing sustainable alternative fuels.
