lpv:translated text	"I voted against this resolution because I believe that the political groups of the left who sit in this Chamber have exploited a national political issue, which in any case has already been resolved, as evidenced by the recent agreement between the Hungarian Government and the European Commission. I believe that such national issues should not be brought into question in this House as they are the direct responsibility of individual Member States. On the substance of the matter, it is right and proper to protect the freedom and pluralism of information as a core value of all European Union countries, but freedom of the media must not contradict public morals and, above all, must not invade anyone’s privacy. The news industry should be more aware of the consequences that an unbalanced use of its power and influence can have on the life and liberty of citizens. This is because all too often, personal freedom has been quashed in the name of press freedom."@en1
