lpv:translated text	"Madam President, ladies and gentlemen, I voted in favour of this important resolution. It is essential that the European Union make every effort within its powers to end the emergency, in coordination with the United Nations Security Council, as quickly as possible. Expressing a clear condemnation, proposing a no-fly zone, establishing an arms embargo and other sanctions, providing humanitarian aid, evacuating European citizens, ensuring assistance to civilian populations affected are, however, all measures that merely seek to stem the disaster. The European Union, however, must play a stronger political role on the international stage and be able to address major challenges. After facing the emergency, I think we should stop and reflect to see how the EU can work in future to prevent future situations where weak democracies break down and develop into humanitarian disasters."@en1
