"Poverty amongst women is a really serious problem that the EU needs to solve. The crisis situation that we are facing does not help to tackle this serious problem, but we need to make an additional effort in order to solve it. As combating poverty is one of the main objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy, everything possible must be done to achieve it, specifically as regards women, less advantaged and older women especially. Therefore, what are needed are labour and social protection policies that are concerned with finding solutions for women to be able to reconcile family life and work. Dialogue also needs to take place with social partners and civil society in order to achieve a fairer society without differences."@en1
