lpv:translated text	"− I congratulate the rapporteur on bringing such a relevant and sensitive subject to the attention of Parliament. It is true that the financial and economic crisis and demographic change, with the increase in life expectancy, have prompted all Member States to strengthen their pension policies. These measures therefore prompt a drive to modernise and coordinate national policies on the adjustment of pension systems, sustainability, balance between the duration of working life and pensions, greater transparency of pension systems and protection of solvency. I agree, in particular, with the attention paid by the rapporteur to female workers, who are often discriminated against with regard to male workers where pensions are concerned. I also agree with the need to prolong workers’ careers through a modern employment policy and improvement of working conditions, and I agree with the need to make pension systems and the information provided to citizens more transparent. I am very concerned, however, about the serious impact that the measures called for in this document may have on the Member States’ coffers, many of which are already under great pressure as a result of the tough economic crisis."@en1
