"As a rule, once the Constitution is changed and a new form of governance has been created, the country needs democratic and fair elections. We can start the discussion about the financial or other type of support only after Tunis has performed all the recommendations of the OSCE, the European Parliament, the European Union and the European Council. Unfortunately, history teaches us that the countries that aspire to democracy become centres of corruption and abuses. This process is linked to the high crime rate and violations of law and social rules. I voted in favour taking into consideration the fact that financial support to Tunis should take place only after free elections and under the strict control of the institutions responsible for financial support."@en1
