The Saharov prize, for example, is evidence of this. To my mind, in the last two years this prize has been awarded to candidates who were not the best. Clear signs of political have appeared in the European Parliament’s work in defending human rights. People who have no right to be called human rights defenders are often being nominated for cash prizes.
