lpv:translated text	"On the subject of development cooperation, I voted in favour of establishing a financing instrument to encourage that process, because the European Union’s development policy aims to reduce poverty over the long term. It follows that the integration of development strategies and the promotion of international trade are important factors for reducing poverty. I believe the financial assistance measures to be adopted in such a context should aim at improving the living conditions of the groups most at risk, and should therefore facilitate adaptation and inclusion through sectoral support and specific actions. I am also of the opinion that EU policy should focus more on substantive integration with developing countries through the establishment of a specific, appropriate financing instrument. Development and economic growth currently underpin the proper functioning of a country. It is therefore necessary to promote targeted actions in that direction in order to achieve a stable level of cooperation with regard to countries at risk."@en1
