"Mr President, last September, Parliament refused to close the accounts of the European Police College because of serious mismanagement and structural problems. It was not expected that things would be put right until 2014. I do not have the impression that anything has improved at CEPOL in the meantime. Why, then, do we now have the proposal to close the 2008 accounts anyway? The delegation of the Dutch Freedom Party (PVV) has therefore voted against this proposal and wants the costs of all undue losses to be borne by those concerned. Moreover, we are calling the very existence of CEPOL into question. We already have excellent police cooperation in Europe and we do not need CEPOL here. As far as we are concerned, it might as well be entirely abolished as soon as possible. In fact, that would represent a huge saving for the taxpayer."@en1
