"One of the earliest tasks of the re-established Scottish Parliament was to remove from the statute book a law prohibiting the ‘promotion’ of homosexuality in Scotland’s schools. The law had been enacted by the right-wing unionist government of Margaret Thatcher – a government which had no legitimacy among the people of Scotland. The Scottish Parliament saw things differently and reformed the law to make it fitter for the 21st century. It is to be hoped that the people of Lithuania choose to be similarly minded."@en1
