"It is just over a year since the tragedy in Haiti, in which more than 200 000 people lost their lives and more than 3 million Haitians were affected. Even now, human rights associations say that there are still 1 million displaced persons living in inhuman conditions in makeshift refugee camps. A year ago, the international community, including the EU, made an enormous effort in order to help Haiti and prevent the natural disaster from having the effects now being observed. It is therefore time for us to remember these people again: they are suffering enormously, particularly the most vulnerable amongst them, such as women and children. It is time for us to join forces to return everything to normal in this country that has been rocked by natural phenomena."@en1
