"Madam President, as a Hungarian, the Hungarian Presidency is a great pleasure for me and I wish the Council every success, yet this speech about Serbia’s EU accession gave me a slight feeling of sadness and a sense that something is lacking. This was due to the absence of any mention of the extraordinarily crude violation of human rights committed against our fellow Hungarians in Vojvodina, and I would like to ask whether the Hungarian Presidency or the Commission is aware of the reports of human rights organisations and the reports of observers, firstly in the case of the young men of Temerin. The case of the young men of Temerin shows a flagrant violation of human rights perpetrated by imposing an excessively severe sentence of a total of 61 years in prison on five young men for a pub fight, which they must serve in third world conditions, tortured and subject to inhumane, cruel treatment. This is compounded by the fact that at the same time, the most brutal crimes committed against Hungarians are not investigated. Do you know ..."@en1
